{"id":759,"date":"2014-05-21T21:57:36","date_gmt":"2014-05-21T12:57:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/en.asiagathering.jp\/?page_id=759"},"modified":"2015-03-16T19:38:31","modified_gmt":"2015-03-16T19:38:31","slug":"faq","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/japangathering.org\/en\/about\/faq\/","title":{"rendered":"FAQ"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>What do we do in the Gatherings?<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Not a typical conference<\/li>\n<li>No planned speakers, no teaching sessions, no human pre-set agenda.<\/li>\n<li>A time of worship and waiting on the Lord<\/li>\n<li>A call of the Father to His children to gather together<\/li>\n<li>Not the initiative of any one ministry, but leaders meeting from different places, different streams for years united in the same heart: to see the glory of God manifested in our nation, and globally.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Is it a waste of time?<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Glory won\u2019t come by human programs<\/li>\n<li>Waiting is a lost art in the Church \u2013 instead we are busy doing.<\/li>\n<li>But we are supposed to be modeling ourselves after Jesus, only doing what He saw the Father doing, saying what He heard the Father saying (John 5:19, John 14:24)<\/li>\n<li>We must give up our own rights, lay down our own agendas\/plans and give Holy Spirit the freedom to rule in our midst.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>What is listening to God\u2019s heart?<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>There are two ways we can hear \u2013 through our mind or spirit<\/li>\n<li>If we use our minds, then we will not be able to hear the impossible \u2013 only what is rational<\/li>\n<li>God is the God of the impossible \u2013 David and Goliath, Joshua and Jericho<\/li>\n<li>God\u2019s Spirit functions by discernment \u2013 our spirit witnesses if something is God or not<\/li>\n<li>We must live by the spirit (1 Corinthians 2:14) and renew our minds (Romans 12:1-2) and bring them in subjection to the spirit.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>What are Corporate Listening and Corporate Discernment?<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Each of us sees only in part (1 Cor. 13:9) that is why there is safety and wisdom in a multitude of counsel (Prov. 11:14\/15:22).<\/li>\n<li>We want to live like the Early Church \u2013 seek the Lord together until we can say \u201cit seems right to the Holy Spirit and us.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>What are we looking for?<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Not a prolong visitation of God like a revival<\/li>\n<li>But for us to become a dwelling place of God<\/li>\n<li>We long for the glory of God like King David \u2013 Psalm 132 \u2013 to become the resting place of God<\/li>\n<li>Like Moses said to the Lord- if Your presence doesn\u2019t go with us, don\u2019t send us from here.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Why is Worship so Important in the Gatherings?<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Worship helps us enter the presence of God together, so we can hear the Lord more clearly.<\/li>\n<li>We don\u2019t set times for the worship \u2013 we worship until the Holy Spirit releases us.<\/li>\n<li>We love to see different expressions of worship in the gathering \u2013 not just singing, but also dancing before the Lord.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Why is Unity important?<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Only recorded prayer of Jesus \u2013 John 17 \u2013 He prayed for unity of the body and said this is a key for the world knowing Jesus and His love for them<\/li>\n<li>Unity is a spiritual principle<\/li>\n<li>Unity is not doing things together \u2013 for e.g. evangelism meetings when all the churches support<\/li>\n<li>Our unity is not in doing the same things or saying the same things, it\u2019s having the same heart<\/li>\n<li>This heart is total and complete submission and obedience to the Head, Jesus Christ, in every area of our lives.<\/li>\n<li>God is pleased when the brothers and sisters are walking together in harmony and unity of heart and spirit. (Psalm 133)<\/li>\n<li>God is a father \u2013 he likes His children walking in harmony with each other and in obedience to Him<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>What is the Denomination Background of the Gatherings?<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>The gatherings are for brothers and sisters in any denomination who believe Jesus Christ is our only Savior.<\/li>\n<li>They are open and not restricted to one denomination only.<\/li>\n<li>In fact, God is pleased to see His people of different backgrounds come together to seek Him in unity (Acts 13:1-3)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>What languages are used at the gatherings?<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Japanese and English.<\/li>\n<li>Korean and Chinese interpretation provided.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"woo-sc-box note   \"><strong>Note:<\/strong> The above frequently asked questions and answers have been taken from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.asiagathering.hk\" target=\"_blank\">Asia Gathering<\/a> and adapted accordingly.<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>What do we do in the Gatherings?
