Important Notice

Registration:

  • Please note that all participants are required to register for the gathering.
  • Please be sure to bring along the QR code and registration number you received in your confirmation email when entering the venue.
  • If for any reason you did not receive a registration number, please email us at info@japangathering.org.
  • The registration will begin at the venue 3rd floor on March 27th at 4:00pm (16:00). Please come early to receive your wrist bands and avoid traffic.

Arriving in Japan:

  • When you go through immigration at KIX (Kansai International Airport), please have the address & phone number of your stay (hotel) ready.
  • Please take note that if you do not have an address you may be held for hours at the airport, so please have it ready on hand.
  • For reason of stay, you may write either tour or attending a Christian conference.

Sim Card:

  • You may book your Sim card before coming to Japan with very cost effective ways.
    Please click here to book your sim card and pick it up in the KIX Airport Terminal 1.
  • You may obtain prepaid SIM cards or rent portable wifi in KIX Airport Terminal 1 onsite.
  • Please take a look at this link to know how or where to obtain sim card in KIX Airport.
Most hotels will have wifi and internet in the room or lobby. In the venue, there will be no internet access.

Meals:

  • Please have your breakfast at the hotel.
  • We will be selling meal boxes, breads, and meals through food truck at the venue for lunch and dinner. (JPY ¥400-1000)
  • Please keep in mind that drinks are sold separately (approximately JPY ¥120-160).
  • There are many restaurants around the venue; Kyoto is known for delicious Japanese Cuisine.

Instructions:

  • You may pick up a headset at the reception desk by providing your registration number and writing down information.
  • You may keep the translation headset until the end of the gathering.
  • Please note that you will be held responsible for the headset. If in any case the headset is lost or broken, you have to pay JPY ¥2000.
  • Please bring your own earphones and mobile battery (power bank) for translations headset.

Icoca Card:

Icoca

For participants staying in hotels that needs to take subway to come to venue, you may consider obtaining an Icoca Card. This will save time as you can avoid the queue and process of purchasing train tickets each time you travel.

You may obtain the card from JR Help Desks named Midorino Madoguchi from:

  • JR Station within Kansai International Airport (the counter is connected to Terminal 1 walking out from second floor)
  • JR Kyoto Station

* You may choose to line-up at the counter or buy from a machine nearby. There will be English language available in the machine, but please be advised that it may be a slightly unfamiliar and complicated process.

Instructions:

  • At the counter you will be required to pay JPY 2000 (JPY 1500 usage + JPY 500 deposit).
  • At the end of the stay, please return the card to the counter to be refunded your deposit of JPY 500.
  • If you have remaining funds in your card and would like to receive a refund in cash, a charge of JPY 220 will be applied.
Please note that ICOCA cards are available from the Midorino Madoguchi counters at JR stations listed above (within the airport or in Kyoto Station. Also you can get the ICOCA card from vending machines in various stations within Kyoto.

Money:

Although there are banks that exchange money near the venue, it is safer to exchange money at the airport. If possible, it is best to change money in your own country.

Please take note that credit cards are not used often for other transactions in Japan, so it is safer to carry cash around in order to buy food or snacks at convenience stores.

  • Please note that lunch boxes at the venue can only be bought with Japanese yen in cash.
  • For your expenditures for food and transportation during the gathering, we suggest to exchange a minimum of 30,000yen (US $300).
  • At the gathering there will be times for free will offering. We are able to take offerings via Credit Card on-site. We would greatly appreciate for you to prepare in advance as the Lord leads. Thank you for sowing into Japan and His kingdom!

Passport:

Please be sure to always carry your passport with you, do not leave it in the hotel room.

International Calls:

Most hotels will have information on how to make international calls. Please follow the hotel instructions. However, we do not recommend international calls unless in the case of emergency, as it will be very expensive.

Temperature and Weather in Kyoto:

Masuyama-Park

The average temperature in Kyoto this season is around 7-18 degree Celsius (45-65 degree Fahrenheit).

It will be a peak for Cherry blossom season. Please take a 15 minutes walk from our venue to Maruyama Park (円山公園) which is known as Japan’s 3 most visited place for Cherry Blossom.
